Teams and Schedule
The team listed first is considered the home team and must provide the bocce balls. Additionally, if you are in the Mega Game then the third team also needs to bring booce balls.
Fields:All the following fields were chosen based on their ability to be reached within walking distance from a T stop. Any involvement with buses are currently vetoed based on the irregular schedules of buses. If you'd like to suggest other locations that meet these criteria for the TBD fields then please let me know.
Boston - Boston Common (Park Street T Stop) - We will meet right near the redline entrace of the park at 7:30 and then walk to an agreeable site for all to play at.
Cambridge - Cambridge Common (Harvard Square T Stop) - It's not overlly big so you should see people.
Liberty - Liberty Park (Davis Square T Stop) - Meet on the powderhouse side of the park.
Sennott - Sennott (Central Square T Stop) - Meet at the closest entrace point off of Norfolk Street.
Danehy - Danehy Park (Porter Square T Stop) - Meet at the playground across from the projects and the same street as Jose's.
Esplanade - The Esplanade (Charles/MGH T Stop) - Meet at the end of the pedestrian footpath bridge.
If you need directions to any of these places then I suggest that you google it.

Urban Bocce Ball League Welcome
- The league will consist of multiple teams of two.
- All games will be played on Thursday evenings at one various weekly location
Rules:
- Roshambo to determine which team starts the game (Best of 3).
- Roshambo winner tosses pallino and then its first bocce ball.
- Team furthest from the pallino always shoots until they are closer than another team.
- Closest bocce ball to pallino gets the point.
- If two or more of the same teams balls are closest than score a point for each one.
- Team scoring last shots first the next round and throws the pallino.
- Games will be to eleven in a best of three series.
- Must win match by two points.
- Home team provides the bocce balls.
Requirements:
- Each team must possess a bocce ball set.
- Must be two players per team for a match. Sorry no solo conquests
Substitutions:
At least one team member must be present for each match. Therefore, a fill in guest player is allowed but cannot currently be on any other team in the league. A fill in guest can play no more than two matches with one particular team.
Locations:
Seeing as that this is an urban league there is no official home location. Therefore, we will be taking advantage of parks all across the Boston, Cambridge and Somerville areas.
The commissioner is currently accepting recommendations for places to play. Please send all ideas back with reasons why it’s a good place.
Current List of Possible Locations:
- Boston Common
- Cambridge Common
- Danehy Park
- Charles River Bike Path (Not on the path of course)
- Charlesbank Park
Costs:
There will be a mandatory two dollar fee for each player to purchase a trophy for the league champion.
Game Etiquette:
The use of smack talk is not only encouraged but an important aspect of this league. We will not be repressing anyone’s creativity here so Journey psyche outs will be allowed.
Uniforms:
It’s highly recommended that your team create uniforms that reflect your team name using iron-on transfers or whatever means you can think of to make a sweet uni. Those who don’t make uniforms will constantly be ridiculed the entire season. The following are examples from the Beverly Hills League. They are a bit classier than what our league aims for but its gives you an idea in terms of matching and coordination (excellent job ladies).
